As part of the companies continued expansion within the UK Market, FRS have been enlisted to assist with the delivery of a local West Midlands search for a UK Tax & VAT Manager.
This position will work closely with the UK CFO and International Group Finance
UK Tax Manager – Indirect Taxes, Customs Duties, and Corporation tax
We are seeking an experienced UK Tax Manager with a strong focus on indirect taxes, customs duties, and IPT to lead our tax initiatives and navigate the dynamic UK tax landscape.

As a pivotal member of our team, you will drive strategic leadership, manage complex tax matters, and ensure compliance with UK tax regulations while implementing efficient tax strategies.
Main Objective:
The main objective of the UK Tax Manager role is to provide strategic leadership in navigating the evolving tax landscape, driving UK tax initiatives, managing complex tax matters, and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, while ensuring compliance with UK tax regulations and implementing efficient tax strategies within the UK group and reporting cluster.

Main duties of the role:
• Responsible for the UK’s tax compliance program and including preparation and review of monthly VAT, quarterly IPT returns and annual corporation tax returns for all UK companies, including SPV’s.
• Preparing capital allowance allocations in respect of site refurbishments and fit-outs.
• Liaising with external advisers and HMRC as required and dealing with any HMRC enquiries. Working with advisers to ensure returns are filed on a timely basis and e-filing and IXBRL requirements are met.
• Ensuring all tax related payments are made when due, including forecasting and calculating Corporation Tax payments on account. Collaborating with other parts of Finance and Global Tax colleagues to accurately forecast the ETR for the UK and understanding the underlying drivers affecting the UK forecasted ETR.
• Responsible for all tax related accounting entries related to VAT, IPT, current and deferred tax and tax disclosures in the statutory accounts, together with year-end group tax reporting package. Ensuring a robust set of supporting schedules are prepared for external audit.
• Working with Global Tax colleagues to ensure that key UK tax matters are appropriately reflected in the Group’s consolidated tax reporting and auditor reviews are effectively resolved.
• Working closely with Finance and other parts of the Global Tax team to assess the impact that UK tax audits and other UK tax risks will have on the Group’s tax provision on uncertain tax positions
• Internal control; ensuring compliance with the tax internal controls programme.
• Reviewing and advising on tax matters associated with property related transactions and also general changes to UK tax laws.
• Assistance and advice in any UK tax topic
• Perform tax training if needed to local team(s).
• Business partnering with both UK Finance and Commercial colleagues to ensure UK tax issues and potential solutions are communicated fully and keeping the wider Global Tax team apprised of this and maintenance of a UK tax risk register.
• Contributing to Finance Transformation initiatives and systems implementations which impacts the UK tax wise and working with corporate and UK based Finance teams on this.
Candidate Overview
The ideal candidate will be either a practice trained qualified (ACA / ACCA / CTA) accountant OR tax specialist looking to make a 1st or 2nd move into industry or already operating within the Industry and looking to take the next step in their career.
With this position being a newly created as part of the companies UK expansion the scope of this role is still be refined and does have the option to be further widened to include aspects of Financial Accounting and Audit (BDO) should the candidate desire.
In return a varied and progressive position can be offered with excellent scope for ongoing development and growth both within the UK and Internationally.
A flexible salary range based on experience and qualification of £50,000 to £75,000 coupled with Bonus and benefits.
