Our client is a dynamic SME business of around £10-15m Turnover and forms part of a larger and highly successful international group.
As part of the companies continued growth post formation 2 years ago, FRS have been enlisted to assist with the recruitment of a Financial Controller / Head of Finance to join the business based in Solihull (with hybrid working offered)
This position will work closely with the CEO of the business and play a key role in the companies continued growth and success.
Due to the SME nature of the business, this position is highly varied and will work as part of a small finance team taking full ownership of all accounting aspects top to bottom.
• Oversee Bookkeeper for Sales and Purchase Ledger, Credit control, credit card management.
• Sales Ledger/Purchase Ledger/General Ledger reconciliation, Authorising Invoices & Payments
• Dealing with banks and credit card companies
• Preparing and reporting Budgets/Forecasts
• Preparing and reporting monthly/quarterly & yearly management accounts
• Preparing Statutory Accounts under FRS101
• Managing all aspects of financial control (Systems and Procedures)
• Producing financial management reports
• Management of all income and cash flow control
• Owner and co-ordinator of external audit process with KPMG
• VAT returns (quarterly) (via inhouse MTD platform)
• Processing and managing Payroll
• Co-ordinator of related tasks and projects
Due to the SME size of the business and close knit team, my clients focus is very much about securing the right personality fit to the business.
As such those that are QBE, Part Qualified and Qualified will all be considering for this position as long as relevant experience can be demonstrated within a similar position.
Whilst the finance department is set to expand as the company continues to grow candidates need to be comfortable working as the lead in a small finance team and therefore required to cover top to bottom finance duties.
This position offers a high level of exposure to the company C Suite and therefore excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
Candidates with experience gained within the Manufacturing or Metals industry would be desirable but not essential.
