Our client is a well-respected and rapidly SME business operating in a niche area of Automotive Manufacturing and Retail with a turnover in the region of £70m and expansion plan to exceed £100m within the next 5 Years with future exit planning in mind
As part of the company’s expansion, FRS have been enlisted to assist with the recruitment of their first senior finance hire to join the business as Finance Director
Working closely with the Founder / CEO, the successful candidate will work from their offices within Worcestershire and play a key role in the companies continued expansion and improvement leading to longer term sale with equity stake.
The purpose of this position will be to work with the Board to update and improve all financial processes and drive the implementation of upgraded management information across the business.
Finance Director Designate
– Report initially to the Directors with future of succession planning in mind.
– Manage and develop the Finance Team of 3 staff
– Be responsible for compliance across internal processes and external reporting
– Support the MD and Board in developing and delivering strategic plans
– Own the annual budgeting and reforecast process
– Establish operational KPIs with each channel to ensure the delivery of strategic plans
– Drive the delivery of upgraded Weekly/Monthly reporting with support from the team
– Partner with the Operations team to ensure the delivery of inventory and margin plans
– Monitor ROI on marketing and other spend to support additional growth driving investment
Preferred candidate profiles
– Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) ideally with 2-5 years PQE gained within a similar Finance Manager / Financial Controller / FD Position.
– Experienced in delivering Board output
– Hands on experience in an SME with a turnover over in the region of £10m-£100m
– Experience of policy, system and process development and improvements
– Demonstrable cross functional impact in a challenging environment

This position is being recruited on a full time, permanent basis with a basic salary of up to £100,000 coupled with excellent benefits, bonus and plan to work towards becoming the statutory Finance Director within 6-12 Months where equity stake will be offered giving a LTIP come sale of the business.
